Introducing TFX Dance Competition Teams Sundays with Scott

Strong Technique. Real Confidence. One Team.

We are thrilled to introduce the brand-new TFX Dance Competition Teams!

Starting Sunday, 26 April 2026, we are launching two dedicated competition classes led by Scott.

This is a fresh opportunity for students to push their potential, work as a team, and represent TFX on stage.

Whether you are a Junior (Ages 6–9) or Senior (Ages 10+), we have a spot for you at the TFX Studio.

What Is a Dance Competition Team?

A dedicated group that trains, rehearses, and performs choreographed routines at adjudicated events. It is a pathway focused on performance artistry, technical precision, and musicality.

Artistry & Craft: Focus on stagecraft and expression

Teamwork: Disciplined practice and group cohesion

Growth: Constructive feedback from judges

NOTE: This is performance dance, not cheer.

How Dance Competitions Differ

Dance Competition

Focuses on artistic expression and technical precision.

Choreography & Storytelling

Technical Lines & Flow

Musicality & Artistry

Cheer Competition

Focuses on athletic stunts and crowd leading.

Stunts & Pyramids

Tumbling & Acrobatics

Chants & Game-Side Support

What Dance Competitions Involve

The Format

Events are typically regional. Dancers compete in specific age divisions (e.g., U10, U14) and style categories against other schools.

What Judges Look For:

Technical execution, musical timing, performance projection, and overall stage presence.

Logistics: Costumes are essential.

Events may require travel. There are tech rehearsals to space the routine on stage.

For First-Timers:

Don’t worry! We select suitable competitions that are encouraging and appropriate for our team’s experience level.

Styles we Focus On

Jazz

Sharp lines, dynamics, and explosive movement.

Commercial

High energy, musicality, and performance quality.

Lyrical

Fluidity, emotional expression, and control.

Built on a Strong Technical Foundation

Alignment • Turns • Leaps • Flexibility • Musicality
