Murron Shepherd studied at the University of Aberdeen before moving to Inverness to take up a teaching post at Fortrose Academy. She is an experienced clarinet and piano performer, and holds a first class honours degree in music education.
Murron is a keen supporter of youth participation in music, having benefitted from many rehearsal and performance opportunities throughout her childhood in her hometown of Fraserburgh (Aberdeenshire). She will openly admit that, had it not been for music, she would not have known what to do with her life, and believes young people should be encouraged and supported to pursue careers in the arts. She loves musical theatre and is confident she can sing a song from every musical ever written – be sure to test her on that one!
