Having completed 3 years of professional training, Roy worked independently to gain a great amount of teaching and choreography experience, as well as gaining his FDI and Licentiate teaching qualifications in Freestyle dance with the ISTD.
As a freelance dance teacher, Roy has had the pleasure of working with many dance schools and theatre groups across the North of Scotland over the last 13 years. For 10 of these years Roy worked as dance teacher and laterally, artistic director, for TFX and was instrumental in developing the delivery of the dance and performance provision. Roy was also heavily involved in directing and choreographing many large-scale shows on behalf of the schools he has worked with, as well as assisting with all aspects of their coordination. Additionally, he was regularly asked to choreograph production numbers for high profile charity events, such as the hugely successful Strictly Inverness which, to date, has raised close to £1 million for charity.
